Calling all Kessil users for help

I currently have 2x Kessil A360WE, and I am a little confused regarding the two nobs. Kessil A360WE has two nobs, one marked color and another marked Intensity. I like my tank running a lot more blue, but when I read other peoples settings, they say that their running their blues at 70+ % (lower percentage = darker blue, higher, means more white).

I spoke to Kessil, and they told me that the color nob is essentially just for aesthetic, what matters the most is the Intensity dial. Is this correct? Is there much benefit from running high % color on this unit? My lights hang 8" above water line

My tank is currently 36x17x17 (49 gallons) and SPS dominate (new acro frags)

My light schedule:

Intensity:
2 hour ramp from 15% to 65
2 hour at 65%
1 hour ramp from 65% to 75%
2 hour at 75%
2 hour ramp down from 75% to 15%

Color:

3 hour ramp from 0% to 35%
4 hours at 35%
3 hour ramp from 35% to 0%

After speaking with Kessil, they told me that I can essentially raise my intensity to 100% over the next week, if the acros are doing fine. Thoughts?

That sounds consistent with what I've heard: the Color knob cannot be turned to an inappropriate setting; it has been calibrated so that the minimum and maximum spectrum are at appropriate levels for any sea life. Whatever level you choose is based on aesthetics only. Don't be confused by others claiming they've got their whites at a certain %, or blues at a certain %, because they are not talking about Kessils.

And yes, as long as your corals & anemones are light acclimated you should be fine with Intensity levels approaching 100%. I recently bought a bleached BTA and had to bring my intensity way down, like 5% or 10% to get him to stop trying to move all over the place. Then raising by 10% a week (or, more accurately, raising by 5% twice a week)

When I was using them I maxed them out at 65% intensity and 35% color. It was on a 75g.

I can confirm, via plug in power meter, that only the intensity knob adjusts the output power. Adjusting the color doesn't impact the power draw from the kessil.

What kind of coral did you have in your tank? How far was the light from the water line?

mostly LPS and softies. Light was 9" above water and sand tank was 20" so about 19" to the sand bed.
