I do believe in the dips between transfers and the prophylactic use of praziquantel and metronidazole during the TTM . Peroxide bath and freshwater dips are such an easy intervention between transfersCorrect, TTM does not work for velvet unless you also include peroxide dips as part of the process. You can use 75 to 100 ppm 30 minute dips and move the fish to a sterile tank each time for three dips to help with that.
True velvet is pretty rare though, advanced ich is often mistaken for it.
My ideal QT tank. would be a UV / diatom filter. I would use a power head or laminar flow pump situated on the bottom . It would be on intermittent on /off cycle so as to keep any trophonts / eggs In suspension .I want them free floating to make them available for them to be sucked into the filter .
