Water level isn't rising in the skimmer. It's barely pumping any water.

Did you try plugging the hole in the bottom of the T.? Duct tape all the holes shove a filter pad in it?
Did you take off the venturi and see if it is plugged?
The bubbles will make the water go up.
Don't know just trying.
I had an eshopps once someone replaced the tube on.

The venturi is where the airline goes into which, in turn is connected to the input of the pump.

I have not added Dr.Tims yet because i think I'm supposed to add it right before adding a fish right? Water test this morning shows:
Ph 8
NO3 .50
Salinity .027

What should my next step be? I have ordered an ammonia test it should be here tomorrow. I used my API Freshwater kit so not sure if it world be even close to right but it said ammonia was .50.

That skimmer would be fine to get you through imo. Your bioload will be very light for probably a year.

Ok thank you! Then can I add a fish or do I need to wait? Just added it the little ammonia alert thing isn't showing any ammonia so not sure if that is more accurate than the API.

I was thinking I might stop by the lfs after work and see if they still have the little clownfish I showed you the other day that might be a good companion to your girl.
