Calmwaters First Saltwater Build

Anyone know if zoas and RFAs will grow side by side or would the zoas take over?
RFA's can move, so if they got irritated by zoas growing on them they would move...

Been a while since I posted pictures of my corals. They seem to be liking the light schedule that @luis angel suggested or it could be the AB+ but they seem to be growing more than they had in the past. I am really loving all the zoas and am considering turning the rocks on the left into a zoa mountain instead of having two zoa islands. @VintageReefer you asked sometime back for an update on the beautiful zoa I bought during the joker corals sale it's doing well and seems happier now that I moved it closer to the top of the tank but it could also be that is just got adjusted to my tank.

They must need a bit more light than other zoas.
I keep mine on a floating magnetic platform 3/4 towards the top of my tank. They overgrew it. So now I have a floating square of exospheres lol

What a neat idea!

What a neat idea!
I came up with a concept, designed it, and had a 3d buddy bring my idea to life :)

I designed custom 2x2 tiles that can accommodate 1 or 5 frag plugs and a matching shelf that holds them.

And then you take your frag plug and put it in the tile, in this case the single hole tile. Then the tile fits in a special magnetic platform/shelf. In time the coral will naturally spread off the plug and onto the tile. And if I wanted I could remove the tile and relocate it, and then just put a new tile in and start over.

Or, it can be used as a propagation system. Use the 5 hole tile (the shelf accommodates both tiles)
Put 4 blank frag plugs in the outer corners and your zoa plug in the middle. In time the coral will naturally spread, onto the blank plugs. And then you can just remove the newly seeded plugs as needed and replace with new blank plugs.

Self fragging zoa system! And you never have to risk damaging the source coral by scraping it off the plug it started on. Works with other corals also

Beautiful Amanda! Makes me want to post my new corals but I don’t want to show you up on your own thread! 🤪

Oh my gosh Kipp I'm so sorry I was looking at the sales over the weekend and totally forgot about yours! Next time I will be sure to look at yours I still have tons of room for more corals! I have decided to focus on zoas, Leathers and mushrooms as they seem to grow the best for me. I also want to add a bubble tip anemone since I lost mine for some reason after about 6 months of it being fine I think my clowns miss it. Maybe some RFA's also got my nano tank.
