Started up a Fluval Evo 13.5 as a downgrade from my 32 gallon, which just became too much to handle for me.

Have some Caribsea grey aragonite sand, and some live rock from my old tank teeming with TONS of micro brittle stars and pods/little cute bugs. Waiting on lid from Kraken Lids currently.

Lighting: Current Orbit Maine LED. Probably will upgrade at some point.

Coral is: Kenya tree, tequila sunrise Rhodactis, orange gorgonian, a few toadstools, green sinularia, and a red discosoma in the back.

Livestock: My lovely Yellow Assessor who is over a year old now (was my dream fish), a strawberry conch who is years old, gold banded coral shrimp (just added), emerald crab (for the bubble algae which is gone now), and a few nassarius snails.

Just set this up a few weeks ago and everything is going smoothly.

I’ve heard some caution about the gold banded coral shrimps and emerald crabs. Any insight is great! If anything was to harm my assessor I would be very upset. So far they all get along..

Only other thing I wish to add would be an orange spotted goby at some point.
Love this little tank!

Was it a hard adjustment going from a 32g tank to a 13.5g tank?

Did my first water change. Changed out carbon due to the toadstool on the top right shedding. Evicted the emerald crab as I witnessed him attacking my assessor and noticed tail fin damage. Everything is growing and looking lovely!

I just started up a 13.5g Evo. It's about 5 days old. So far I love it. It's all stock but I will be adding an ATO to it tomorrow. I started it with Tampa Bay Saltwater live rock so I already have a handful of critters in it. I have a Jewel Box clam, a couple of good sized Brittle Stars, three snails of one kind or another plus lancets that came in the sand. I see one of them swimming in the water column every couple of days.

How's you're tank doing??

Look at mine this little Evo has been an absolute beast – amazing coral growth, stable params, and it's turned into a thriving nano reef I'm super proud of. But I need MORE space for bigger scapes, more fish, and even crazier corals! 🪸🐠
The BioCube is on its way – can't wait for that extra volume and built-in setup.
Look at mine right now – what do you think? Worth the upgrade? Drop your BioCube tips, mods, or stocking ideas below! 🔥
