I think I have narrowed my search for a camera to the canon 70d. I think I have my lens decided for the all around lens but what would you guys recommend for a macro?

[h=1]EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM This is what im thinking for the regular lens but it is not set in stone yet.[/h]

I agree on a 100mm for the macro lens. I have a Nikon D7100 and I made the mistake of buying a 65mm macro. While it is a great lens, it is tough to get good full frame shots of corals and fish toward the back of my tank. A 100mm would have been a better choice.

As for the canon 70d would you guys recommend something different or is that a good choice? I know the lens is the most important part as you can really tell difference between quality.

I am also leaning toward the 70D and 100mm macro lens. Did you end up getting it?

I haven't yet, plan to order In the next week or two hopefully. Havent decided If going to get a kit to start and then get the lens or get the camera and lense and buy other accessories later. If I go the kit I plan to upgrade the stock lens as soon as I save up.
