I still like the camera and enjoy using it probably take around 100 shots a week with it, the shots im taking now haven't improved markedly from what I've shown already in this thread. Parkers reef had a good video on fish photography that I followed initially that made it easy to pick up to the point of those initial photos. Still haven't pulled the trigger on a proper macro lens to shoot coral but im sure I will eventually. I'm happy with the camera I don't know that I would be if I hadn't picked up lightroom as well it's definitely an integral part in putting the polish on the images for me at least.
Thanks. Is Lightroom an app?

Cool that your company is offering you this!

I can't speak to the Sony or Canon, but I would get the Z50 with the 16-50 lens. Cost-wise, that is much more of a value than the D7500, and about the same as the Z50II body alone. The lens seems slow by the numbers, but with image stabilization, it works really well.

Nikon has stopped making new FX lenses, and overall support for that platform is dropping fast. I have a D800 and a Z50, and I shoot the latter exclusively now.
Hey @Jay Hemdal I hope you are well. I'm going to get this camera based on your recomendation (Don't worry, Amazon has a liberal return policy, lol). In pulling it up on Amazon there are a TON of bundles. I am lost. I'd like to simply shoot my coral and fish and if I can shoot video with the same quality great. If I can zoom into a polyp and see the cell structure - that's a plus :) Also, if there a filter to take pictures in blue lighting? Or, is that part of basic 101 learnings of using a camera when I get it? Oh, and ofcourse, the bundle needs to come with a magic pill that will allow me to take awarding winning shots out of the box :) Seriously though, are you familar with any bundles being better than the other for the above? Sorry to be a pest. Appriciate all you do.

So - the OP had a limited series of cameras they could choose from. You don't have the same restriction, right?

If you want to zoom in on corals, you'd need a macro lens. Then, it's tough to shoot macro through glass (for me anyway). I wonder if the Oylmpus TG-7 would be an option? It has macro capability, shoots underwater, and takes great video. $500 to $550 depending on the bundle.

Fantastic. That's a much more reasonable option as well. When you say underwater, like "it puts the camera in the lotion"? If that's the case, You had me there.

The TG series is waterproof down to 50'. I put mine in my tank and then look through the tank glass and focus using the camera screen. There is a waterproof ring flash diffused that works great for Macro shots. I don't know how well it can handle color temperature changes to balance out blue tanks though.

Have you used this camera snorkeling or diving? The built-in glash enough for good color?

Yes - I’ve taken it snorkeling quite often. I’ve even gotten some publication quality shots from it. I have an older model, the newer ones are even better.

We were snorkeling in Captain Cook Bay in March. Pink tail triggers and Idols swimming right up to us. Amazing cleaner wrasse stations. Of course I didn’t have a camera.
