Hey guys! I purchased a established reef tank that was in somewhat rough shape. Had over grown with mushrooms but could sustain much else. I’ll post some before and after pics. I was able to buy 4 Radion xr15w gen 3 and a aquatic life x18 hybrid 61 inch. I bought an ati blue plus, coral plus, aqua blue special and an actinic bulb to go with it. I was running t5 before so I wasn’t too afraid of acclimating those but I left the led’s off for a week and then slowly turned one on at a time and only increased strength by 5 percent until getting to 65%. What I’m undecided on is what setting I should be running and how long to run the t5’s versus the led’s. All corals seem happy except for a spainbow I lost to Dino’s and a rainbow monti. I don’t have an apex yet due to budget. My goal is for a mixed reef with good sps growth. Also have tons of different zoas, Superman rhodactis and mushrooms. Just one sunburst anemone to make the wife happy.

I run my t5 only when my leds are at its peak. For my ramp up and ramp down, my t5 are off.

My peak is 6 hours long, so my T5 burn for 6 hours as well. I use the AquaticLife non dimable hybrid fixture 4 bulbs as well, and both ballast run at the same time.

Its more a SPS dominate tank. I run the AB+ schedule modified using 3 hydra 26HD. SPS growth is great, and also what ever sofites are in there are growing great as well.

AB+ schedule for my Hydras are manual, but can be found on the net. AB+ on the Radion can be downloaded from the Templates on ESL.
