Not sure of what species but I've heard reports of this behavior, some worms have tunnels directly imbedded in the coral skeleton. Not sure if they land there and the corals grow around them or if they actually tunnel in the coral, or maybe both. They do not feed on the coral its self.It does have those same whiskers as it but I’m not sure it is as it’s growing inside the coral and there’s a lot of them now look like a small hole or tube that goes inside the coral in which it lives and send those whisker things out to feed and when it’s time to eat it come out of the tube a little so tiny it’s hard to see I’m gonna see if I could get a way better picture but it seem they may have even spread onto the rocks hmm
Better pictures might be if it is it seemed like where polyps had died it used as it’s tunnel crazyNot sure of what species but I've heard reports of this behavior, some worms have tunnels directly imbedded in the coral skeleton. very interesting, seems to be a bit of an oppurtunist when it comes to real estate. Definitely a Spionid worm. I wonder when the coral recovers if it will smother the wormsBetter pictures might be if it is it seemed like where polyps had died it used as it’s tunnel crazy
