Can an overated skimmer be bad?

scenario: 120g tank

would running a skimmer rated for a 240g be bad on the system? ie not make it work correctly, will it still pull out the same amount of skim using a simmer rated 120-150g?
 
In some cases a drastically overrated skimmer will not produce a foam head. In your case I think this will be fine, as it's not grossly over sized.
