this was given to me. I’ve searched and searched. Can’t seem to find a spot on idea of what he is, so not sure where to place or how to care for. Any thoughts?

Leathers can be mad for days sometimes.

I would look up leather Corals and see if you can find something that looks similar. ......To me it kind of looks like lobophyton.
