I had one too. Had him when it was about 2.5", and 6 months later was around 3.25. By then he was picking on various corals and christmas tree worms. I don't remember much else from him, other than that he killed some desirable stock and that the feeling of finally getting him out of the tank, despite him being eaten by a stonefish in another one of my tanks, was a very relieving one lol.
Most of the LFS owners I've been around here, agree that this isn't really a reef safe species.
As for the regular cleaners, I've never been able to keep them for more than 2 months despite feeding various foods to the tank and having many fish to clean. Their deaths however have seemed more from illness than food issue.
