Can I Get A Angelish?

Hi so I have a 20 gallon tall reef tank with 1 clownfish in the tank currently.Could I get a angelfish as the last fish i add to the system? If so which angelfish do you reccommend that wont outgrow a 20 gallon tall?

That's a pretty small tank for an Angelfish IMO. I assume you would want a dwarf of some kind but that may still be a bit small. I would not recommend it in that small a tank. They can nip at LPS and clams (and some nip at SPS). In that small a tank, I would look at another type of fish personally. Just my two cents.

+1...I think a 29g is probably the smallest tank. One probably shouldnt be done in anything less than a 40g tall.

There are plenty of other cool fish out there, and hopefully more tanks in your future for the angel you want.

What's a cool looking fish that has a lot of color and could make it I'n a 20 gallon and wont break the bank?

I agree it is too small.

I would look into any Gobie's, Blennie's, Cardinals, or Dottybacks.

+ too small unfortunately. All fish mentioned by Skinz would be great, if adding a dottyback is in the plan I would add last as they get territorial. I would consider a 20 a really big nano. ;) As a good starting place you can visit Live Aquaria and navigate to saltwater fish they have a section of recommended fish for smaller aquariums.

The only one on there i'd stay away from is the Catalina Goby as they come from cooler waters and do not do well in tropical temps for very long.

if you must add a angel go for a dwarf like mention above but i would still think the tank is too small

The pygmy might be an ok angel to add. the Dwarf Pygmies only get to 1 or 2 inches max. I have

I wouldn't house more than 2 very small fish, in a 20 gallon tank. I wouldn't recommend even a Dwarf Angelfish, in anything smaller than a 29, if it's the only fish, preferably a 40 gallon.
