Can I plumb a chiller into my Closed loop inline?

Just wondering if I might I lose/gain any cooling efficiency if so? I was thinking I might actually be pushing slightly warmer water into the chiller than necessary as it cycles completely through the tank and under halides before returning to be cooled again.

i say as long as the gph on the closed loop pump is the same as the main or the min gph that the chiller calls for . i myself always plumb the chiller to the main return on all my installs

depends on the gph flow rate recommended buy the chiller manufacture and the gph on the closed loop they need to match !!

I was planning on using a ball valve to control the flow to the chiller...
Also, thinking about putting an Ocean's Motion 4 way just after the 'T' for the chiller off of the CL pump.

I'd think that it would be way too much flow for the chiller.

Do they really need to match?

sounds like you may have flow problems to the chiller in a closed loop this way !!

Not sure what you mean, can you elaborate? Why would I have flow problems to the chiller if it were T'd with a ball valve for control and returned upstream? Kinda like a mini loop. Why do you say the flow needs to match?

Also, still looking for some responses on my heating hypothesis? Does my initial efficiency assumption sound reasonable? This may end up being a mute point if I just grab some LED's :D

theres a flow for the chiller to keep it working properly ans to keep it from freezing and if it freezes it can cause the cooling coil to burst therefore freon would leak out into the system .
and if you add a four way after the tee the flow in the mini loop would not stay constant and also the possibility of a freeze.
