Here are my thoughts. Most tangs get big. I mean real big. My blonde Naso will get over a foot long. First question. Do you plan on upgrading you tank in the next year? Do you have the funds or budget to do so? And when I mean upgrade I mean to 150g or larger. Do you have the space for a tank that large? Are you OK with rehoming your pets? If you answer no to these questions I'd say dont wast your money on any tangs. I'm not gonna get all tang police on you. Lol. Just trying to give info on what is gonna be needed by the fish as they grow. I have a 75g right now with 3 tangs. And a150g in the garage waiting to upgrade to. And know that eventually will need to go to a 250+ in the future or get rid of my tangs. Hope this helps. I wouldn't keep a tang in a 45g unless its a long. Even then probably still wouldn't. They grow pretty fast as well. And need lots of linear spaces swim. Hope this helps.

It is HIS tank, but it is the lives of the Tangs that are in line.
We cannot continue to deplete the ocean just to watch 3 beautiful fish, kill each other inside a little prison, because well we got a chance to get a good bargain on one of them.
Tank is much too small. It is a NO.

That blue tang was less than 2” only a year ago .
He’s close to 4” possibly even close to 5” long
They are all very active even in the 230 gal where they have tons of space. .
They use every inch of the tank

as mentioned above . The purple or yellow will go rogue kill the other .
Not worth the investment IMO

His tank his money. My concern is there's an LFS obviously giving the owner bad advice to make a sale. I have a 625xxl with 2 bristle tooths a chocolate mimic and a tiny naso that when I need to in year or so I can return for store credit and get another baby one. If you must keep them in a tank that small at least have a plan to re-home them.

If that's what makes someone's day why not? I own a lawn and landscape company and do plenty of property clean ups. It may surprise you how seemingly Professional upstanding people actually live. I have seen all types of hoarders. I used to tend to judge until I started spending thousands on glass boxes while others think it's absurd and wasteful. Their money their life who are we to judge?

I am in no position to judge ..
I have a 230 gal tank and a 150 lb dog in a tiny apartment .
So while restricting what goes in our tank as everything needs room .
I sacrifice my own space to accommodate fish lol
