Can I redrill holes on bottom of tank to accomdate larger bulkhead ?

Strength is the main reason. The bulkheads that came with tank seem very cheap and lots negative tank reviews and lots of posts on this forum say your taking a unneccesary risk by using them. I find that the few people who use them without them cracking or leaking have done so by pure dum luck. Plus my household is full of kids who can break anything, i should rent them out to knock buildings down.... so a lot of extra strength for 20 bucks seems like a good investment to me.

Plus they are gonna look sweet with colored pipe i bought from BRS. ;);Woot:cool::D
