Picked up an apex el last weekend and been enjoying watching my numbers. First my PH seems low, it varies 7.86 at night and only up to 8.15 during the day. Decided I needed to check my calcium and alk, calcium is 390 and alk is really low at 5.7

Been debating dosing kalk in my ato, if so what amount should I add per gallon of rodi? I do have two bottles of B-Ionic buffer, one of calcium and one of alkalinity. Tank is a reefer 250 so any insight would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Did you calibrate your Ph probe? And if so, double check it... many folks don't soak the test chemicals in tank water for accurate temps and get false Ph readings.

CA a bit low maybe....I run 420-440 window.
Alk low......should be 8-8.5 dkh....you can raise .5 dkh per day.
And you don’t want any more than .5 variance at any time, closer, the better.

Nitrates in the 2-5ppm range and phosphate in the 0.03-.1 range.

Move all 8 parameters to point, then, work to keep them there, day in and day out.

The calibration 7.0 & 10.0 solutions are supposed to be floated in tank for about 10mins to get to temp before calibrating Ph probe. I made the same mistake way back when... Now I calibrate both Ph & Temp probes every 6 months.
