It has been my understanding that you should bring your params up to where you would like them by dosing them individually. Once you have them set use kalkwasser to maintain them. In my case use my top off container and mix about 1 tsp per gallon. If and when you reach a point where kalk at maximum saturation of 2 tsp per gallon can't keep up then you would need to dose with 2 part.
