I would really appreciate it if someone could Id it. I was definately thinking in the dendro/sun polyp family. Some kind of Lps for sure. Thanks Coralnutz
Came from a piece of fiji rock. My first guess was a rock anemone too, but it has a hard column-like head with tissue coming out of it. Here's a pic of it closed so you can see what I mean.
fed it brine tonight, I have never seen something grab soo much food. Hard one to ID. Are Rhizo's usually round or oblong like ovalish? I have had it for 6 months or so, but it was on a rock and I thought nothing of it. Not to mention no Id. I used it as base rock and it has been covered until yesterday. Unfed and in the dark. Now its in the light and I will start feeding it regularly. Maybe it will turn into something more Identifiable. Thanks for the help.
That looks very similar to a common thing from the Caribbean. I think they call it a cup coral or something. I had a lot of them at one time, on the backs of rocks and in lower light areas, typically. I don't remember split tentacles at the ends like that one shows, though. Very similar in form and color, though. I don't know what a Rhizo looks like from experience, so I can't mentally compare the two...
