Noticed my Oompa Loompa and Rasta zoas have a new friend. Can zoas interbreed? How did this happen?

I would say interbreeding with zoanthids is not possible due to genetics. However different conditions in the tank can influence morphology of the new polyps growing. Interesting case tho. Following :)

If you only had two, would you frag them?
Definitely! See if they grow out into the same morph - plus, you may find a new variation ;)

I’ve never seen it happen. Normally one zoa becomes dominant and takes over smothering the rest out.

I would isolate those if you can, keep them away from other zoa and put them on a plug or tile. And see if you can get more

Call them oomprastas lol

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
