Picked up a candy cane last week, its in a 20 gallon coral qt currently with 26 other corals. Can someone help identifying whats on the side of these. Feather duster? Aiptasia? Theres about 15-20 total.

Some of what you're going to see is excess super glue from me getting sloppy on breaking off the old frag plug and putting a new one on. I have been removing the plugs and divving everything in coral rx.

I am not a fan of hydroids and not all are harmless. I would take tweezers and pull them off and out of the system so they don’t take over the candy cane since they are already all over the skeleton!

These are harmless ones.

The ones you are talking about can create mats are the colonial big yellow hydroids.

These aren’t it, and are harmless
