Candy Cane Coral placement

Quick question... Candy Canes: place them on the substrate or on a rock? I've seen conflicting information and wanted to see what works best for y'all.

Candy canes generally do best with PAR of 150-250; just acclimate to the higher levels. Low light will cause stunted growth or even death, IME.

Mine are the happiest and most fluffy in 50 to 100 par. Anything higher and they end up not happy.
