Candy cane coral -strange branch

Check out this pic. What is the strange branch coming out the back right side. It’s coming out of the base of the candy cane coral. Is it an up and coming head? It looks foreign, but it’s coming from the same base as the other candy canes. (It’s hard to get a pic of the base)

That looks like a peanut worm to me.

I say glue it shut. No big loss. You didn’t buy it on purpose so no money loss. It’s not worth the risk. Those heads are beautiful. Why chance it
