Candy cane pests in?

Hello reefers.

I've been lurking for a while but I recently ran into an issue and need your help.
I got a white Caulastraea recently and a couple of the heads don't seem to puff up during the day as much as some of the other ones.
I noticed these white tubes coming out of it and I'm not sure if these are pests in the coral or if the heads just aren't acclimating well to the new tank and the white tubes are part of the coral.

gotta say #WelcometoR2R sorry it took so long.

It is hard for me to say, it does not look like part of the candy cane but it’s been a while since I had one. Bet there’s someone around tonight that may know

stop by meet and greet when you get a sec to say hi to all

That’s not part of the candy cane. Those are vermitids. Snap them off. They really make candy canes mad. Mine won’t open at all when one grows close. They should look like the pics below when fully inflated. I’ll send better pics of mine now in just a second
