Candy cane tissue necrosis

I’ve never seen anything like this. All my other corals look fine. My candycane has powder flying off it. All parameters are in check. Any ideas

We're going to need some info on the tank.... parameters, lighting flow, etc.... Thats a lot of algae buildup on the sides of the tank and the sand and rocks. Are you doing maintenance on the tank, are you doing weekly water changes? Are you sure that is not dino's?

Yess looks like some algae issues which means an imbalance in your water chemistry somehow . Let’s see those numbers!

I’ve been battling cyano for a while but the candy canes before were thriving

Flow and lighting has not changed. That candy cane was 2 head in the same spot 6 months ago and grew a lot

Yes I blow off the rocks daily. I had issues where my nitrates were getting too low but typically do 10% biweekly and dose to maintain parameters

If your happy with your numbers and all others are doing fine my guess would be bacterial. A lugols bath would be my go to.

I did a 15 min lugols bath and will reevaluate tomorrow. I am just confused why it would only effect these

My pectina colony has flipped out several times for what seems to be no apparent reason. Lugols bath and back to normal. Are you sure nothings eating it? Peppermint's or a crab?

Yes it’s weird because I have one on each side of the tank. I’ll see how the lugols does
