I went BIG with my canopy cooling fans and they are also ultra quiet at only 12db as tuned. Hooked up to 3-speed switches for seasonal variance with a Apex override for tank temps above 79* I have them drawing air up through my DIY LED array.

I'm surprised you didn't try to mount those struts inside your canopy.

I need a few more things before I can start building my canopy again. I have the frame of it built right now. Been to busy working in the stand...
You will have a nice set up once it's all finished bud. Looks great so far.

Thanks. I wish I had more time to do things so I could get it done. It's a slow process.

There doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to get what I need done. But it is what it is

Lol I know what you mean bud. It took me about 8 months to finish my led build. But me and my wife had a new born so it build was put on the back foot for a little while. You will get there.

I know I will. The only progress I really make is on my days off. Hard to make progress during the week when I work second/third shift

Your builds looking good! I went with blower type fans in my canopy. I designed it so the canopy has positive pressure. My intake fans are sized larger than my exhaust so air is always exhausting out thru any potential openings to minimize dust (had problem with dust in canopy on my other build), and the intake fans have a mesh aluminum filter. Also, I found the fans a bit louder than I liked so I wired a 12v to 6v converter, so at a certain temp, my apex will trigger a relay to increase fan speed based on a temp probe. Check out my sig link for pics and details of my canopy.

Hmm I still have to build my canopy. I was going have a long vent holes but I still haven't figured out how I want it. I know I will have a floating shelf for my led lights which will be the hydra 52

Yup that'll work too. Lots of different canopy designs to choose from out there, that's the beauty of DIY!

Yes it however I'm not sure if I should go with that design or a fully enclosed one to prevent dust from getting inside. Hmm choices

Cool. That would be great. I have a few ideas just unsure of what would work realistically and what would be good for the tank meaning nit wanting to have dust in it which I know is unstoppable st times
