Cant stop brown jelly disease

I was seeking some advice on bjd in my euphillya.
I had an outbreak and have lost 6 euphillya so far.

I completed a 10 day in tank cipro treatment and added bacteria after the cipro was complete. Each day there appears to be another infected coral. I've been dipping the newly infected coral each day in the king fu dip. The kung fu seems to help and I've been about to save a few heads generally losing one of the heads.

Any additional suggestions or do I need it to infect all my torches and hammers?

Should I do a kung fu dip on all my euphillya even if they look ok now? I have about 20 total.

Stop all carbon or amino acid dosing. Ime they contribute to the cause of bjd.

Out of the 6-7 pieces lost I only saw brown jelly oozing out on one of them.

Have you done a recent ICP test?

No ICP test yet for 2 reasons:
1. Started dosing Tropic Marin trace elements. Tropic Marin said to get up to the full dose amount and then wait 2 months before ICP. I'm probably within 3 weeks of the 2 months timeframe.

2. I was suppose to have a new 150 gallon tank delivered today, which was never delivered for some reason. I was going to wait until that was up and running before the ICP.

I have no issue doing an ICP test now if it may be beneficial.

You'd need to watch at night. There is a species of pods that have been reported for eating healthy coral. Most didn't believe them. But, they posted video evidence. They are a very large type pod.

Yes. They are large amphipods. And if thats your case, you'll see these lil monsters ripping flesh off your coral.

How about some photos of the corals in the tank under white light? I think there are other things going on from the one you pictured. Seems like a fair amount of recently exposed skeleton around the top. It's possible the corals are struggling and losing tissue and then succumbing to BJD or some other infection.

Looks to be some tissue left on that one also. So maybe not BJD and just receded up into the top of the skeleton now? Did it look like brown mush? BJD just turns the whole head to brown slimy mush in a day or two and smells really stinky.

Well it didn't take long for another torch to be infected.
The photo below of the torch has the same pattern as the others. One head will start to close and look sickly. It didnt smell bad. It smelled like saltwater.
I'm also including a few photos of the torch outside of the tank as its now in a kung fu dip. As a reminder only one that died so far had brown oozing out of it. All the rest looked like this torch.

Im not sure what the red specks are on this torch as I don't recall seeing these on the others. Thanks.

Let's look at this from other perspectives. BJD is typically caused by poor water quality but your parameters have negated that except for what an ICP test might show. Have you checked all equipment for rusty parts? Did you measure par with a parmeter? It looks like your torches are on the sand and somewhat new frags. The symptoms suggest BJD but lack the visual and smell typically associated. Do you have any large leather corals in the tank? Do you run fresh carbon? I suspect some type of vibrio bacteria infection and would probably preemptively Kung fu dips your remaining healthy LPS. For reference my torches sit mid tank in 250 par. Hammers in 150 par.

those red specs are sporadotrema formanifera. 100% harmless.

How close is the toadstool to your new euphyllia frags that have been dying off?

Your tank is 4 years old so you "had" a very established biome but with the ciprofloaxin and now the chemiclean treatment you basically killed off 4 years of good stuff in your system.

I would just dip your torches and hammers. It us possible that you introduced a bacteria infection into the tank with recent frag additions. I noticed also in your pics that your corals were very close together which probably allows the infection to transfer easily I speculate.

Edit: I also have a large Sinularia but this isn't as close as the toadstool is. The closest one that died off was about 8" away from the toadstool. But some are very close.

- Yes, unfortunately I consider my tank over crowded. I have a larger tank coming (this week) but that won't be ready to transfer the corals for some time.

Treat the entire tank. Dip can help but when the infection is in the tank you have to treat the whole tank to get rid of the infection.

Agree. I recall having BJD once. What I did was take out all my LPS and placed them in quarantine system -nothing fancy. I treated the entire quarantine with antibiotics and chemiclean -had I known about the kung fu dip probably would of done that.

All my LPS were wild pieces at the time and I had a 75% survival rate.
