While checking on my tank before bed, I noticed that my RBTA was in the early stages of splitting. I pulled out my phone (unfortunately the best camera that I have) and started filming. 3 hours later and I have 2 RBTAs and vídeo of the split from start to finish.

This was the first anemone that I’ve ever witnessed split and the process was amazing and violent. The anemone found a sharp edge on a rock to use as leverage to literally shred itself into 2. My cleaner shrimp was all over pieces of ‘nem that started flying around!

That is really cool to actually see the process of it splitting itself.

Here’s the full 3 hour process in 9 minutes.

Cool video.

Need to add a little CGI so the new annenome then eats that cleaner shrimp. Like all of a sudden the annenome morphed into a frog fish, ate him, and morphed back.

Would be awesome but I don’t have those skills yet!

however, the cleaner shrimp was at an all you can eat buffet the whole time, eating a bunch of anemone pieces!
