Taking this slow, as I want to get it as clean as I can. I’m so tired of rats nests for wiring!!

Final view after tonight’s work (waiting on one more 1Link cable for the Right DOS):

@Caravanshaka , your whole Modular Marine setup is making me want to re-due my set up and order some Modular Maring baffles for a new sump, or to order a sump from them now.! Before I wet my tank !

Do it! Brian did a great job with my stuff. Go for a full sump though...having to do your own baffle install ruins the beauty ;)

@Caravanshaka , I was thinking of getting the baffles pre-Cut from Modular Marine .. so that way all I do is silicone them into place :) but still thinking of a Modular Marine sump as well !

Sump officially holds 50 gallons even when running. 17g fuge, 16g frag area, 13g sock and skimmer, and 4g return.

Need to swap in a real hanging kit on the sunlight supply light...it is off balance due to the cord and the internal weights, so won’t hang straight on the supplied hanging kit. Easy swap, just need to find the parts.

We have a stand in place! Fits like a glove! Only a little touch up paint around the baseboards from trying to get this beast into place.

Now, onto wire and tube routing that I can get done before the sump goes in....silicone to seal it is drying now.

Great build log!

Did you have to level you stand or was it pretty much level in place?

I got lucky, stand was dead level in place! It helps that the stand has such a big footprint. Similar to what we do with tanks, I added a “heavy machinery” mat between the stand and the floor to help more evenly distribute the weight. It’s a 1/4” thick heavy duty mat made for things like treadmills.

Where did you pick up you unions? They look nicer and smaller than the crap i find at Home Depot.

Do you plan on putting a mat between the tank and stand?

I’m going to do something very similar, can you please post where you got the mat that’s between the stand and the floor? I’m concerned about level and was going to use leveling feet but then you have a point load and that’s another dilemma- I much rather have the weight distributed like you have it

I got all of those fittings from https://www.pvcfittingsonline.com/
They are higher quality than home depot for sure, and extremely cheap when comparing to aquatic shops and big box stores...like $2 for a 1" union cheap

Yes, the tank came with a 1/4" foam pad...and I've also got a neoprene yoga mat available to use, which is the same material I used under the sump. deciding today which one will be better....the foam will be easier to get the tank into place in the nook that it is in since the neoprene is very non-slip...but I think the neoprene is a better material for this use.

I got that mat from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GNLKZ28/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks to a couple neighbors and an awesome local reefer that had suction cups, we moved the beast into the house this evening.

As soon as the kids were in bed, I was emptying my dual 40g water containers in my mixing station and dumping them into the tank and getting it salty while my RODI begins to fill it again. Here is 85g in the display with most of the rock that will go in there, and 50g of RODI still chilling in the sump!

For your stand, do you simply use a regular set of screws to hold down the plywood, located under the tank, to the stand?

Did you use an 80/20 calculator to determine what size tubing to use? I want to use their stuff for a future tank build, just not sure what size tube to get, fittings, etc. Thanks!
