My local reef store stopped selling the 45 gallon carbon bags and now just have ones that treat 75 gallon tanks is that fine to use on a 45 gallon tank. Will it just last longer until I have to change it out?

It is fine. What I like to do is soak my carbon in ro water or rinse it in the sink to remove any bacteria or crud build up every 2 weeks and replace it every month. I would think this to extend the usefulness of the carbon since apparently it just gets clogged with bacteria (or crud) if it sits in the tank for a while.
