I have 2 kittens and they are fascinated by my freshwater tank. They can't reach or get up to the saltwater tank. The other kitten loves to sit on the canister filter on the side.

My current cats could care less but back in 2000 with my first tank my siamese Himalayan cats used to at least fake intrest (like my wife). Here is a picture of a picture that is 35mm that’s how far back. My dog on the other hand helps me keep my hands out of the tank by just blocking my way. My orange cat only likes the boxes Of stuff from SW.com or BRS. Makes it hard to hide stuff from the wife!!

My savannah does the same haha! I love the bengal breeds man. One of the most beautiful cats out there.
my savannah cat used to love to walk the edge, until he took a dunk. It was hilariously scary but he never went near that tank again. Still makes me laugh. Tank was fine though.

My cat Fred does exactly this. Especially if i get to messing around under the tank later in the evening. i usually leave bar stools for the cats to sit and watch the action.

When I got my reeeftank I already had a 4month old kitten so you can imagine the amount of mischief going on around the house...

I would wake up in the morning to her laying ontop of the fish tank right under light she would be super hot. Did some research and apparently to train cats you need to fully remove them from the room and close the door. So I did just that for 2 months.

Fast forward to now. She wont go near the aquarium. If I'm working on it shell be right next to me on her chair. If she doesnear it ill call her out and say "NO! Oreo" and shell chirp and run back to her chair.

I even put her up to the glass and she doesn't care:)

still impossible to do any water test or maintenance with her around.

Our cat used to sit for hours with her nose to our old fish tank watching the fish. With our new(er) tank she can't be bothered. I caught one of her sitting next to it, but she didn't seem to care about the fish. Might be due to her getting older now (12 years old).

3 months old so thankfully she can't reach that high yet. The bangai cardinals seem to be her best frined along with the pintail wrasse. I have a mesh lid but had to use white foam board to confuse her . Probably doesn't help the wife showing her the fish up close and personal. Lol but I'm happy they both like it.

This is our Maine coon Lucifer messing around with an old tank.
He’s been messing about on the lighting fixture of the current tank as well but after a suspected accident (tons of dried up salt on the glass and fur everywhere) he’s generally content with making maintenance a pain by stealing stuff and running away with it.
