For almost 4 years my Melanurus Wrasse has been like clockwork. Under the sand approximately 15 min before lights out at 9 PM, out of the sand approximately 15 min before lights on at 11 AM. Today no Wrasse. Has anyone had a Melanurus wrasse decide to sleep in?

I’ve had a few wrasses like this that one day they just decide to wake up later than usual, or even just not wake up that day but reappear the next day.

guys been working a 11 to 9 every day for 4 years dude probs needed a ly in 🤣
Think about tho? That means it sleeps from 9p-11a, no one needs 14 hrs sleep every night...

This as described clock changes for me seasonally especially with harlequin Tusk each fall and also daylight savings. It is consistent for several weeks, stops and resumes

All my sand wrasses pop in and out of the sand at random times 😂 I have one thats super skittish and she goes in the sand anytime a fish swims close to her. I constantly think she is gone because it can be like 2 weeks since I last saw her and I dont see her during feeding times but when I do see her its obvious she is eating because shes got a good belly. Wrasses are strange

My melanarus once freaked my wife out by deciding to take his sweet time getting out of "bed."

His head was popping out of the sand, but the rest of him wasn't, so it looked like he had been decapitated and his head was just sitting there. Stayed like that for a few minutes, then swam up out of the sand as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Wrasses are, indeed, strange.
