Hi all, this is a build thread for my new IM Lagoon 25. It will be an upgrade for the contents of my 12g long dirty macro jungle pit. This tank will not be quite so dirty, but I still plan on stuffing it with as much macroalgae as I can. Other inhabitants will be softies, LPS, cool inverts, and 2-3 fish.
System Specs
IM NUVO Fusion Pro 25
Homemade metal stand
x2 75w Neotherm heaters
Inkbird temperature controller
Sicce 1.5
RFG nozzles
AI Prime HD w/ gooseneck
Tunze osmolator

Filtration
CustomCaddy Media Basket, undecided on specific media at present. Will modify the filter sock...
24 lbs TBS live rock (already have 12 lbs of this)
24 lbs TBS live sand

Livestock
1 left handed hermit “Chili”
Misc. tiny white hermits (to be rehomed when larger)
Untold numbers of dwarf ceriths snails
3 trochus snails
1-2 unidentified hitchhiker shrimp
1 juvenile spiny oyster (that seems to be everyone’s best guess, anyway)
1 decorator crab
2 porcelain crabs

The live rock I have now is covered with bivalves, feather dusters, barnacles, tunicates, sponges, spaghetti worms, etc.

Hitchhiker corals
Cup corals
Tube coral colony

Softies
3 Ricordea Florida
3-4 Rhodactis sanctithomae
1Discosoma
1 neon green toadstool

LPS
1 turquoise blasto
1 duncan
1 Micro Lord
1 pastel alveopora
1 lime green favia
1 “black stem but more of a dark purple stem technically” torch
1 “nuclear tip” torch
1 grey/red chalice

Gorgonians
1 purple ribbon (Pterogorgia anceps)

Fish
None yet

Macroalgae
C. Paspaloides
C. Prolifera
C. Sertariodes

Codium
Sargassum
Gracilaria
Bryothamnion
Hetereosiphona gibessii

Various Halimeda such as mermaids fan, bottle brush, etc. May phase these out.
Halymenia dilatata “Dragon’s breath”

Although I am patiently but excitedly awaiting the rest of the rock and sand I need for this tank, I will likely start moving the inhabitants of the 12g over soon so the room they are in can undergo needed maintenance. I may put some tubberware of the current sand in there for the moment.

FTS after filling her up tonight!

Thanks Josh!
Kick-starting the process tonight with a tubberware of ripened sand and some traces of mud. Prob unnecessary but I was itching to get started.

I’ll salvage as many pods and worms as I can from the 12g. Thinking of using some sort of fine mesh as a sieve. Also have a refreshment of Algaebarn pods and more live phyto on the way.

The plan is to move all rock, macro, inverts, and corals over at once, now that the temp is matched. I might dose Biospira as a safety measure, but I’m not anticipating any sort of a cycle.

I’m also including a pic of my beautiful wild Phyllangia americana (or maybe oculina, I'm not entirely certain). It’s been doing well with occasional targeted feeding.
