Is there any way at all to determine sex? I have one now and would really like to attempt to have a pair. Thanks.

Goldens don't show obvious dimorphism. A possible indicator is size. Males are usually larger, however, small males exist. The best chance of getting a pr would be by getting individuals as small as possible and letting them work it out.
