I’ve had excessive hair algae in my coral QT tank lately. Every week I pull off 8-10 inch strands of hair algae off of the HOB filter and frag racks. My solution is a chaeto cage:

Used egg crate from Home Depot and cut four 11 inch tall x 7 inch wide panels and a 7 inch x 7 inch bottom piece and glued them together with CA glue. The chaeto has been in the water for a week and no hair algae growth!
