Chaeto Light Bulb

I have 2 gooseneck fixtures that can accepts regular E27 bulb types in my stand over the chaeto section of my sump. Can anyone recommend, give a link to a good light bulb to buy for growing chaeto?

This bulb has the right red/blue combo, PAR value and wavelengths apparently.

Many reefers have used bulbs such as this and had great success. It hits both the blues and reds for chlorophyll A and B for the chaeto to grow. Would like to see a spectral graph, but they don't provide one. But it should work well for you :)

You can try two, but at 54 watts they may not be necessary depended on the size of your sump. The only downfall to these lights is that they've been known to be lazer beams of light, meaning they shoot the light straight down and don't really spread out a whole lot. So for coverage depended on your sump size two would be a good option :)

Current bulb that Im using. Crazy growth. You can order it online at homedepot.com for 40 bucks. It's designed for Hydroponics and Aquaponics. The thing that sets this bulb apart from others is that it has 5500k diodes along with 2 different red wave length diodes and blue. Most grow bulbs do not incorporate daylight diodes in their array.

I recently ordered this Mars Hydro bulb from Amazon. @BigJohnny was kind enough to do some PAR testing on this bulb and at 8" - 16", it performs surprisingly well. It's not the best light in the world, but considering the price, I feel like it's a very reasonable upgrade from just a 23w CFL from Home Depot. I haven't received the bulb yet, but I can post back here later with results.

BigJohnny's thread is 12 pages at the time of this post, but there's a lot of good info there as well. Worth checking out.
