To preface this post, I live in Canada. I have yet to find a single place that sells “clean” chaeto, and I am not willing to pay $100+ to buy it from a US supplier.

Which leaves me the choice of buying chaeto potentially full of who knows what, or not running a refugium. From previous visits to these stores I could expect everything from hundreds of brittle stars (free CuC!) to aiptasia. Let alone the risk of tomonts encysted onto the exoskeletons of copepods and

Anyways. I’ve done some reading on the subject and have found some folks saying yes QT chaeto for a minimum of 45 days, other folks saying FW dip and you’re fine, yet others saying use the various dips for corals.

So… suggestions? My main question with quarantining is how to keep the chaeto alive for 45 days in a fishless tank? Nutrient supplements? Water changes with old tank water?
