I've been dosing 30 ml of dino x rvery other day and in intervals nitrates dinos are gone so am going to reduce the dosage just in case and keep an eye on it o also turned the lights off in the sump foe whatever dinos are there to die offIf dino x is adding extra nutrient load that is causing the brown stuff to start growing on your chaeto, are you sure you aren't just dosing too much? I feel like you can remove the chaeto if you want, but then the brown stuff will just continue to grow on other things.
Going to try thatIf you think that's what is making the Chaeto turn brown, that's what I would do.
I've kept Chaeto alive in a ziplock bag with saltwater inside for months. You could put yours in a bag with NEW saltwater (no dino-x) and still keep it in the refugium.
Took out the chaeto vacuumed the sand went down from 30ml to 15 ml of dino x every other day and 30ml nitrate every day nitrates are going up little by little sand still white rocks are clearing up no carbon yet and just placed first sock no water changesI'm following this thread, so keep us posted on how things go.
Good luck.
