chalice frag question

Hello, been a while. I've not done much to my tank for awhile and i have a chalice that has started growing up the front glass as shown below...

Is this a frag opportunity ? If i just "kindly" broke it off, and then figure out a way to scrape/bump it off the glass??

If not, what are my options, if any?

Scrape with a razor blade, place frags on plugs. Good luck.

Looks like echinopora lamellosa species. IME they are pretty resilient and easy to frag. That chalice grew pretty quickly from the smallest of frags.

Thats good to hear! yes, it has shown to be a hardy corals over the years, and recently my intense neglect from finishing my undergrad.

That thing has taken about 5 years to get that size from a little nub ! lol
