Chalice growing or receding?

So my chalice was laid flat in sand doing good but I moved it onto the rocks under a ledge. Now it's showing white marks in the center just like the white edges(that show growth right?). So is my coral just reaching out for light?

Alk is 7.8. About a month ago my corals went from not using up minerals to realizing alk was 6. Since then I've been dosing all for reef once daily. Could the single dose be too much swing?

I would stick with keeping it there or slightly higher in the 8's calcium above 400.

Make sure your mag is elevated as well and not below 1000

Ok thanks I'll do some more testing! What are the chances that it's not getting enough light? It seems to prefer indirect but maybe this overhang blocks too much light.
