hey everyone just curious on how chalices have grown for them. I know they all grow differently.

ive had all of mine for only around 3 weeks so obviously not to much time for growth

but on a couple of them I have had eyes popping up all over the place! is this a good thing? is it normal for that to happen? or is that just my experience?

thanks for sharing!

Yes It's normal. I've had the same experience with different pieces over the years and don't have a good explanation for it. I do think that chalices with lower access to light than optimal may produce more eyes to compensate. As you mentioned, growth can be variable as corals are super adaptive and there is a wide spectrum of behavior among different species.

Eyes are good Mike. Means they are healthy and ur doing something right with your tank. I have several rainbow chalices that i have had for 6 months.. All are doing well but no eyes yet. Everyone is different u know that. Keeping them happy and figuring out when they arent is the key i believe...Good luck, and post some pics for ur fellow R2R members.

Ill take some new pictures tonight and start a thread on my chalice growths! hopefully it goes well lol.

any suggestions for what to feed. a couple of my chalices extend their tentacles and will gobble up my thera A specterum fish pellets but not all of them do. whats the best stuff to feed and what additives can I use to help everything out?

Well I've fed both spectrum pellets and mysis shrimp. Depends on how big the eyes are. I try not to feed too often though since I figure water quality is most important for long term health...

I feed my chalice's every night. Combo of Reef Snow and Microvore both from Brightwell Aquatics. Then I feed the rest of the tank Mysis, Oyster eggs, Reef Caviar, and Cyclop-eeze.. Making sure that the chalice 's get dusted with the cyclop's..
