I do have 2 wild colonies (large pieces) that just bleached out, hasnt receded yet but i can see right through the tissue... not sure what is going on with those...
Yes, I experenced these happening to my wild chalices as well. They will go white on me.
I I would do is, get them 3-4 inch lower and hope it will come back.
In several cases, the colour will come back after several month, so don't throw it away.
It would sometime morph into beauty. so keep ypur hopes up!:xd:

I wouldnt worry if the color is shifting, I would worry if its bleaching and/or receding off the skeleton. The OME can change quite a bit, I beleive the one at WWC is a similar color to the one you mentioned and thats most likely due do lighting intensity one way or another. You can check if your alk swings by testing it once then test it again in 24hrs and see if theres a large difference. Its really important to dose regularly to keep everything stable, your pH sounds fine which means you probably do. One more thing to keep in mind is temperature swings, if thats in check too then I would raise mag and cross your fingers lol, also try feeding them at night if you dont already.

Ah i hope theres no swings :( i need to get a doser for this system... lately iv been testing everyweek and same results everytime, or well pretty close to the same but alk has stayed 9 if i dont forget to dose...

Weird, I've Never had a prob with chalices. Alk is 7, Mg is 1350.

I have a fried of mine who has his that low and his chalice grows faster than any I've seen lol and Mg is way low too probably less than 1350. Corals are like women... unpredictable lol (I mean that in a funny and sarcastic way no offense ladies)

WOW, my mag levels are at 900. I never really get much growth from my chalices, maybe this explains it !!! Just picked up some BA Magnesion.

I think my alk went to 10.2 but shouldnt be too bad. I think i might of found out what it is... its the low strontium i have. Just tested it yesterday and i believe it was around 2-3 where its supposed to be 15 or so? So i guess strontium plays a big role in LPS receding? I just started adding some in and we'll see how that goes...
