Chameleons

One thing that does surprise me is how little work they are if you set things up well from the start. I have a colony of dubia roaches so I have not had to buy food in years, I do supplement in the summer with bugs on the screen door (yes, yes, all pesticide free), but with the mister on a timer and lights I just put roaches in once a week or so and fill the water bin once a month. Had a few species set up this way the past 15 years or so and always worked great.

You nailed it. Ours are now in Dragonstrand breeder cages with automated misting. They are so easy to take care of.

This was a rescue from my Niece when it got too big for the 20g tank she had it in and she lost intrest. Now Sheldon is part of our family that has pretty much the whole house to wander in during the Winter months and a secure backyard during the summer months. My Nephew has been hinting about getting a lizard so it looks like I might be adopting some type of lizard in the future. :D

I too have the dragonstrand breeder series and a mist king. However, I also have the drip trays plumbed and leading to the waste line. Just like with reef tanks, automation makes it a lot easier!

We had a veiled for about 4months and battled an eye issue for 2 of it. We then bought a Jackson that died the same die we got it. That was about 2 years ago and have been thinking about giving it another try.

When I was pretty young I had a veiled chameleon. This was a good 15+ years ago. I have ave always wanted a panther but have never gone for it. I was seriously tempted to go to the reptile show here today...

What’s a good resource for Chams? I’d like to read up on it again and see if it’s something I would want to pursue in the future.

I can’t imagine selling my Chameleons. They are like family. Especially if the reason was to invest money in a different hobby. ‍

Although I sold them they were very well taken care of and went to my friends house which take care of them just as well if not better(and I can still get babies whenever I want)
