Our leopard wrasse is no longer with us and i was always finding it a pain to dial in the flow without blowing the fine sand all over the place, so i figured id take this new found situation to remove some of the finer sand and add a heavier/larger grade as a top layer.

We do have nassarius snails, a conch and a sand sifting star fish so hopefully theyd be ok.

I plan to syphon smallish areas at a time and add the new on top with a coke bottle to drop it at the base to cause minimum disruption

How does the plan sound?

To me they heavier grains will eventually sink to the the bottom.

Shaun, lol
Can you explain how you stacked your heavy substrate in your 650 to help you open up more flow?

thanks
