I have tried to research this forum, and though I am sure it is in here somewhere, I wasnt able to find it. I finally got tired of the very slow Att internet, so I am switching to comcast. That means a new service and modem/router. Do I need to put me Apex 2016 into service mode via the the reset button and start over with the wifi, or is their another way?

Also, will a 5ghz router work, or will I need a 2.5 ghz router?

Short reset, which involves holding the reset button for 5 seconds until the Apex flashes Blue. You can do the initial Wifi Setup then.

You may not have to do anything with the Apex at all if you configure your new router with the same wifi network name and passcode as the old one.
Otherwise you will have to reconfigure and reconnect all the wifi devices in your home, not just the apex.
All 5G routers will also have 2.4G capability. :)
