I got into a chat over the weekend with people talking about it, but I feel like it'd be helpful to maintain a thread where people can reference uses? I'll commit to maintaining for a little while if this grabs interest. I see a lot of one off threads but not really anything overviewing the useful scenarios - for me this is both to provoke ideas but also to understand where to validate or stay away from. This topic interests me I guess with how much I use GPT in my day to day.
I will say for me, I have a typed up breakdown of my tank, equipment, livestock, prior parameters, and supplements on hand that I lead with saying here is my setup and to please verify answers are relevant. Basically it's what is in my build thread. Having a paid teams version of GPT, I have an actual project created with criteria set in the project.

I know when I first started really getting into the more advanced side of reefing, I consumed too much content and mis-information. I remember at RAP in a seminar with WWC guys they basically said to find someone with proven success and model after one or two people - not to look too far into all of the content in the forums and internet.
Long term, I wonder how this will play into the roles of ChatGPT - since it does crawl the internet, it has a lot of bad info or can consume from too many sources.
Also interested in methodology specific feedback - Reef Moonshiners, Bolus, etc...
I know when I ask chemistry specific questions, I tell it to specifically provide responses based on chemistry and reputable sources.

Successful Uses - Helpful
- Explain the correlation between nitrates and phosphates
- I then provided 2 weeks of NO and PO readings. GPT came back and asked about feeding and water changes, and we determined that water changes were stripping the system.
- Modify APEX Dos Config to run from 19:00 - 10:00 and lower dose amount so total output is the same.
- In ask, I provided the "Basic View" of my current Apex DOSQD Kalk configuration.
- DOS is currently set up to dose 225 mL/hr for 10 hours - Updated to 150 mL per hour for 15 hours.
Cautious Uses - Verify Output / Logic
- First Question - I'm dosing 2250 mL of Kalk mixed at 2 tsp per gallon at night. I'm also dosing 10 mL each of both Seachem Reef Fusion 1 & 2 during the day. - What is my estimated ALK (dKH) and CA (PPM) consumption?
Second Question - What would the expected MG consumption be based on this? Then, if dosing Red Sea Part C into a 200-gallon system, what would the daily dosage be?- I asked it to show me the math and verify - all was correct except the mL calculation on dosing - it seems to struggle with the scaling of the dosage. At first, it said 352 mL per day - I said that doesn't seem correct, verify math. It then corrected.
Failed Uses - High Margin of Error
- My PO4 is .00. What would a dosing regimen be using AF Phosphate into a 200-gallon system?
- Mentioned in prior cautious - straight dosage calculations seem to be an issue - it also left off max dose amount.
- First response, it double-multiplied the ratio to tank volume. I responded saying to verify.
- Second response, it said to dose over the max daily dosage of the AF supplement.
