So for some reason it seems my Icecap Ballast 660 model has broken. I went to check the tank, lights weren't on, timer working, tried it a few times and it seems the lights all flick on for a second then switch off right after. The system is wired correctly and I dont have any loose connections. I also checked the fuse and it seems intact. I believe its the ballast itself. It is connected to a 4 bulb retrofit T5 setup. I haven't taken it apart yet, plan to when I get home.

My question is does any have a cheap alternative to buying a replacement to this (150.00$ !!) on amazon? I can not really afford 150 bucks this month and my corals will brown out for sure with just my 24 Cree LED's on them. I think a week or two turning up the cree's and not having LED will keep them alive but it will cause chaos to the color and stability of my acros. Im worried and need a fix to this. Anyone have any ideas?

Found a guy in Gainsville with them for 60 bucks but he hasn't answered and im getting anxious!

Well there are options, but remember the IC660 overdrives the lamps and is not reproduced on any other ballast...

You could run 2 of these: 2x54W T5 High-Output Ballast at 39.95 each

Either that or find a couple WorkHorse 5 or a WorkHorse 7 ballast to run the light. A couple 5s though would let you run each pair independently...
