Hey guys, I have 3/4 tubing for the return line from my pump to my tank and when I cut the pump off I have a bit of siphon from the display that adds to my sump. I am having the hardest time finding 3/4 barbed check valves. Do you all know of anywhere online that sells them? I have only been able to find pvc check valves and I really don't want to buy barbed adapters for all that mess.

Installing a check valve is like putting on a condom on a first date and expecting the same condom to work at your 5 year anniversary... It could work - but are you really going to risk it?

Put a loop in your return that comes above the surface of the water and drill a small hole - this will create a siphon break and stop the water coming down.

If you want to do both -- because between the check valve and the siphon break.... only one is going to make sure you don't end up with more kids spilling on your floor :) at least order the check valves with the unions on each end. And order several. I use check valves so that I can do maintenance without dropping water levels and for an automated 2 pump back up system. I have one box of extra check valves ready to swap, I have another box soaking in vinegar and I have the ones that are installed on the system.

But if every single check valve fails, I only have about 1.5" of water rise in my sump (it's a 340g sump so 1.5" is some water).
