Check your wetsides regularly!!

I was recently having trouble with my dry side falling off and thought that was a problem. I replaced the wet side because I had an extra and it fixed the problem. When I took the old one apart I noticed this significant corrosion. No big deal for the power head itself but I had some mysterious recession and die off for my euphyllia, this was almost certainly the cause.

I clean mine as soon as algae appears anywhere on them. Two weeks maximum in any case.

I won’t own anymore of these. I lost the majority of my SPS years ago, unbeknownst to me at the time, due to the wet side rusting out. Didn’t figure it out until months later. I think I’ll only go with Tunze powerheads for a future build.

Only magnets i've ever have pop were on small Tunze Turbelle's - They can all do it.

Vinegar can eat into the plastic, better of using a Citric Acid diluted for this.

Bulk citric acid at Amazon is pretty cheap. Don’t bother with the sicce pump clean. It’s just citric acid @ 5x (or more) the cost

I read vinegar is too harsh. Citric acid is what is recommended. Sounds like vinegar can make the rubber and plastic swell.

Never have had a tunze fail. Everything else has

Agreed, in 20 years I’ve never had a Tunze fail, but have had a few MP40’s fail. I’m sure some have not but that’s my experience.
