Here's a pic of what my filter floss looked like prior to me rinsing it:

It's getting clearer, I can see about 6" inside the tank from the glass. If it continues clearing at this rate it might be clear this time tomorrow ;)

Ok, here are some pics. Just remember, I warned you that it was cloudy ;)

Left side:

The little island of rock in the back corner next to the overflow is going to be where my BTA is stationed.

Right side:

Front:

We'll see how I like the aquascaping once the tank is clear, but I think that it's good other than a few minor changes, such as the position of the small island on the left side by the overflow and the rockwork on the right side by the overflow. I'd like to get that shelf by the overflow positioned a little differently...same with the shelf on the left side in the front. Ignore the live rock, it's not part of my aquascape, it's just there to seed the white stuff :) I'll be sure to take more pics once it clears.

Well, I cleaned out the filter floss again...tank doesn't seem any clearer this morning :( If this hobby doesn't teach you anything else, it will definitely teach you patience!

It's the nasty rock I am telling you! I cured Marco rock in a barrel for 3 weeks and then did a 100% water change before the water became clear.

I had a clear tank as well the next day and it took longer due to sand. The water the rock was in was clear.

Thats what I did as well. I had mine in a 40 gallon rubbermaid with a Tunze 6101 and an ATI BubbleMaster 250. That skimmer pulled some ugly looking skimmate from the water.

The water is finally clear! Well, clear enough for me to see through it ;) I'm going to go tweak my aquascaping and then see what crap I can blow off the rocks with a strong powerhead. If nothing comes off after all of that I'm going to add sand today. I'll probably have to figure out some way to siphon out my sump as a LOT of the crap from the rocks settled there. I'll post pics as soon as my tank clears up from me tweaking the aquascape :)

Please ignore the rocks on the bottom in the front...they're a buddy's extra live rock that I'm using to seed the marco rocks, they're not part of the aquascape :)

Yep, they do...I had to tilt the canopy in order to see the entire rockwork so the reflectors were tilted toward me.
